A Yogic Approach to Cultivating:
- Vocal Ease and Expressiveness
- Powerfully Authentic Communication
Shiva’s Drum: Voice Training for Yogis
The voice is our principal tool for communication. In this workshop, we’ll explore our connection to our voices through asana, pranayama, chanting, poetry, and discussion. We’ll examine the qualities of sthira and sukha in our vocal sound, study the diaphragm and throat from an anatomical and an energetic perspective, and learn to listen for and cultivate an authentic voice. By becoming aware of our predispositions and gently exploring the ways in which we sometimes brace against our experience, we can embody freer vocal choices and be more effective communicators.
